Welcome to the Tri-Cities
The epitome of community living.
Alamo Heights, Olmos Park, and Terrell Hills, also known as the Tri-Cities, are amongst the most affluent neighborhoods in the City, with beautiful homes with architectural character, canopied treed streets, beautiful boulevards, where peaceful morning or afternoon walks are enticing. Here you will find quaint neighborhood cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and fabulous little shops. If you are longing for a sense of community, this is it. You have found the heart of San Antonio's family, culture, and traditions. Only twelve minutes from a vibrant downtown and five minutes from the airport, it could not be more conveniently located. No other area is quite like this one, with its long-established neighborhoods, many families that reside here are connected in some way, their parents and grandparents all went to the Alamo Heights High School. It is a very friendly tight night and welcoming community. The younger generations are likely to come back to live in the area and settle down here to start their own families and their children will also attend the coveted Alamo Heights School District. Friends are made at Howard Early Childhood Center, the public school kindergarten and they graduate and go off to college together. Living in this area is a true privilege and you will find homes that are worth several million, well-appointed condominiums and rentals as well as more reasonably priced homes in The Cottage District of Alamo Heights. Residents often call themselves 09ers, short for 78209 which is one of the zipcodes of the Tri-cities, where the Alamo Heights schools are located. The Schools are public, however, they rival the top private schools in the City, academically and with their beautiful campuses.
The San Antonio Country Club and The Argyle are two of the most affluent institutions in the city, a lot of the residents of the Tri-Cities are members of one or both and the Alamo Heights Pool and The Alamo Heights Baseball Fields are also good socializing points, especially for families with younger children during the Summer months. Residing in the Tri-Cities residents enjoy the feel of a small town, yet being very much of the City of San Antonio, a lot of the festivities of Fiesta, the 10-day city-wide party take place in the area. If you needed to pick a word to describe this area of the city, it would probably have to be lineage.
